Jakarta, Info Publik National Education and Culture Minister Muhammad Nuh says that ministerial regulations on the distribution of School Operational Aid (BOS) are scheduled to be set on Thursday.
“The Home Minister’s regulation on BOS management, the Finance Minister’s regulation on the allocation of BOS for every province and the National Education and Culture Minister’s regulation on the technical guide to the utilization of BOS funds will be ready on Dec. 8,” he said on Tuesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
He said the regulations were needed to support the change in the mechanism of the distribution of BOS funds.
The actual distribution of BOS funds from the government to provincial administrations is due to take place from Jan. 2 to 14, 2012. Therefore, the first fund disbursements to schools could be made from Jan. 9 to Jan. 16, he said.
As previously reported, the BOS fund distribution mechanism will change in 2012 following an evaluation of the somewhat unsuccessful 2011 distribution mechanism.
In 2012, the government will no longer use the city administration as a distribution intermediary, but will instead have provincial administrations distributing funds directly to schools. (The Jakarta Post/ L.vi)
